  • Guest Hamburger Joint Reviews  ( 1 items )
Austin Hamburger JointsLike any other city, Austin has a handful of really good hamburger joints. Although typically not considered to be healthy especially if you add French fries or onion rings to your order, most of the time hamburger restaurants will offer a healthier alternative to a hamburger such as a chicken sandwich or salad.  The makings of a good hamburger restaurant doesn't just lie in the burger. The best hamburger joints in Austin must also have good shakes or malts, good rings or fries, and of course a good Coke. Stay away from fast food burgers because the flavors and ingredients are usually poor, they don't offer much to our local economy, and there are a lot of very good alternatives that aren't that much more expensive. We would really like to see a hamburger restaurant in Austin that uses local ingredients, offers natural sodas, and is concerned with quality and freshness of their ingredients. If you know of a burger restaurant you would like us to rate and review in Austin please contact us.
  • Guest Texas BBQ Reviews  ( 1 items )
BBQ RibsIt's a given. Everyone has associated Texas with BBQ and for a good reason.  Texas has the best bar-b-que and Austin is no exception. When your looking for the best BBQ you can pretty much throw a rock from anywhere your standing and hit a good BBQ restaurant. Not only that but you can find so many variations in BBQ cooking methods, BBQ sauces, and sides. Even Time Warner in an effort to personalize the company said on a billboard on Riverside Dr. near Congress  "We like BBQ too!". We would love to hear any BBQ recommendations from the readers. We will be more than happy to rate and review any BBQ restaurant that a reader recommends.
  • Guest Tex-Mex Reviews  ( 2 items )
Tex Mex foodA few words of advise about Tex-Mex cuisine. If you have ever had really good Tex-Mex food here in Austin or San Antonio, then don't try it any where else in the world, especially not in Heidelberg Germany. All of the culinary experience in the world isn't enough to get the same ingredients that are available to us here in Texas. Also, don't buy into gourmet Tex-Mex or go to any restaurant that claims to be such because you will be much happier with the real thing. Like any other good cuisine, Tex-Mex is depedent on simplicity, good cooking methods, and quality ingredients. If ou know of any good Tex-Mex restaurants in Austin that we should rate and review please let us know.
  • Guest Mexican Reviews  ( 1 items )
Mexican foodWhere would Tex-Mex be without Mexican Food? Unlike Tex-Mex, good Mexican Restaurants are easy to find in California and are starting to appear in other states as well. One thing I find fascinating about Mexican food is the difference between it in Texas and California. They are both very good, and both have their own unique dishes and ingredients. The difference between Tex-Mex and Mexican food is a fine line. The name Tex-Mex sometimes is only used for advertising value in Mexican Restaurants although I am sure a lot of the dishes in either type of restaurant cross the border in one direction or the other into each others menus. If you know of any traditional Mexican restaurants in Austin that we should rate and review please contact us.
