 Like any other city, Austin has a handful of really good hamburger joints. Although typically not considered to be healthy especially if you add French fries or onion rings to your order, most of the time hamburger restaurants will offer a healthier alternative to a hamburger such as a chicken sandwich or salad. The makings of a good hamburger restaurant doesn't just lie in the burger. The best hamburger joints in Austin must also have good shakes or malts, good rings or fries, and of course a good Coke. Stay away from fast food burgers because the flavors and ingredients are usually poor, they don't offer much to our local economy, and there are a lot of very good alternatives that aren't that much more expensive. We would really like to see a hamburger restaurant in Austin that uses local ingredients, offers natural sodas, and is concerned with quality and freshness of their ingredients.
